A good meal, a little spending money, and a night of passion — any one of those things would be enough to make most people happy… especially that last one.
You might overeat and feel horrible afterwards… and it’s easy to spend all your money. But you just can’t overdo it when it comes to sex — and all you need is a willing partner and working parts.
Now, a new survey confirms what most of us already know: People who have more frequent sex are happier, and that’s especially true of seniors.
The survey of 238 married seniors found that 60 percent of those who had sex more than once a month were “very happy with life in general,” versus just 40 percent of those who had no sex at all over the past year.
What’s more, 80 percent of those who had sex more than once a month were happy with their marriages — and I hope everyone reading this falls into that category.
The only catch here is that some people have a hard time keeping up in the bedroom once they reach their later years — and that’s especially true of men.
Sometimes, the mind is willing… but the parts just aren’t up to the task.
Don’t be fooled by all those TV commercials — the best way to fix this isn’t with a penis pill. In fact, that’s actually the worst possible solution: Sex meds like Viagra and Cialis have been linked to vision problems, hearing loss, headaches, breathing problems and more — including painful erections that require a trip to the ER to correct.
In many cases, erection problems are linked to obesity — so if you’ve put on a few pounds over the years, lose the weight now… and watch your sex life return.
Other men may simply need a boost in testosterone, the male hormone that drops off naturally after middle age — leading to dips in vitality, sexual function and more.
A naturopathic physician can get you back on track with natural hormones. And that, in turn, can improve both your marriage and your overall happiness.

Men who cheat aren’t just risking a broken relationship — they could also break something that many would consider far more important.
Yes… that.
A new study finds that cheating men may have a higher risk of a broken penis, as if some cosmic force was handing down instant justice — or, as my wife (and many other wives, no doubt) would simply say, “serves them right.”
Researchers looked at 16 broken penises treated in the University of Maryland Hospital between 2004 and 2011, and found that half of the men involved admitted that they were engaged in the business of cheating when business went bad.
The researchers say it’s (probably) not the act of cheating itself at work here — it’s the way people cheat: often rushed encounters in unusual places.
And when you rush at anything, you take risks… like trying to keep all your parts in position while scrunched up in a supply closet. One false move and — CRUNCH (yes, there can even be a horrific sound to go along with the horrific agony) — you’re going to have some ‘splainin to do, both in the ER and later on at home.
But just because broken penis victims may have gotten what was coming to them doesn’t change the fact that this is a very real and very serious injury — and if you’re a man, it can hurt just to read about it.
Technically a “penile fracture,” a broken penis is a tear in the structure of the organ itself (despite the name, there’s no “bone” in “boner”) that can require surgery to correct.
It’ll heal — eventually — but the painful memories will never fade.
(Side note: Don’t Google phrases like “broken penis” or “penile fracture” unless you’re ready to see some things you can never un-see. Trust me on this.)
So whether you’re cheating or just engaging in some daring Kama Sutra sex with your spouse, the lead researcher behind the new study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine has a simple piece of advice.
“If you’re having acrobatic sex…you do have to be careful,” Dr. Andrew Kramer told My Health News Daily.
And you might want to keep this story away from your wife. Just in case. You don’t want to give her any ideas.

You make a lot of sacrifices when you become a parent — but this is one I’m sure most men never see coming…
It’s the loss of their manhood.
No, I’m not just talking about the fact that one-time tough guys will coo at a baby, or decorate a nursery in pink.
I’m talking about real research that reveals a sharp dip in testosterone levels from the moment they hear the words, “It’s a boy!”
Fatherhood can literally cause testosterone levels to plummet by as much as half the moment a child is born. And while it recovers after that (a little bit, anyway), they never quite get their pre-parental mojo back.
Researchers measured testosterone levels by taking saliva samples from 600 childless men in the Philippines, then repeated those tests for five years. The men who had kids during that time saw their levels plunge by 50 percent in the first month of fatherhood.
Those who were most involved in physically caring for their child had the biggest drops. (If you ever needed an excuse to skip diaper-change, this is it!)
Testosterone levels eventually recovered when the children reached toddlerhood — but not completely. Men with kids had 34 percent less testosterone by the end of the study, while men without had drops of just 14 percent (we all lose a little as we age).
But you don’t have to tolerate low testosterone levels, whether you’re a dad or not. There are simple steps you can take right now to keep your hormone levels exactly where they need to be.
First, be sure to get your rest. Testosterone levels can fall by 15 percent after just one week of sleepless nights, according to a recent study.
Next, lose some weight: Studies have found that overweight and obese men have lower levels of the hormone — and that those levels rise when the weight comes off.
Finally, find a safe way to get off the drugs you don’t need (and that’s nearly all of them). Many come with side effects that are downright emasculating. One recent study found that men who take statins, for example, have double the risk of low testosterone.
If none of these apply to you, and you’re suffering from low testosterone, here’s one for you: Emerging research has found that an extract of the spice fenugreek can actually cause free testosterone levels to surge by as much as 96 percent. Read more about it here.
That’s enough to turn you into the manliest dad — or even granddad — around.

December 2007 PDF Redefining “normal”: Is your doctor aware of these emerging markers of heart-health risk? The medical mainstream clings to measuring cholesterol levels as if they were the last life raft in the sea of civilized medicine. It seems as though too many doctors have been programmed to believe that cholesterol numbers are the [...]
